Can you change bibically?

Can you change biblically?

The answer is yes but only through submission to Gods plan revealed through the bible. As I have begun my biblical counseling class, we start with submission to Gods word and the death of our own will. We examine our faith or the lack thereof and pray submitting to God and realizing that we cannot save ourselves.

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Ephesians 2:8-9

Now God enables us to change in a biblical way but only through his son Jesus. Gods standard is perfection (Matt 5:48) and therefore no matter what we do we cannot match up. We have to recognize our helplessness, repent, and trust that God did what he said he did and is who he says he is.

But we are all like an unclean thing,
And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags;
We all fade as a leaf,
And our iniquities, like the wind,
Have taken us away.

And there is no one who calls on Your name,

Who stirs himself up to take hold of You;
For You have hidden Your face from us,

And have consumed us because of our iniquities.

Isaiah 64:6

If you are anything like me, we need to change. We need to see our sin for what it is and turn from it. We seek Gods face for forgiveness and salvation. We take an honest look at scripture and submit to it.

 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

John 5:24

Look to Christ for forgiveness and deliverance from the wrath of God and as our example in pleasing our creator.

not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Titus 3:5-7

Those who follow my blog and those stumbling across my post I am here for you so email me with any personal struggles or for help and I will be praying for you (see prayer requests).
