Inductive Study

I was raised in the church and from an early age God saved me. My first goal in my christian walk was to read the bible cover to cover, and that is what I did. Upon meeting my husband I was invigorated to study and know the word of God. My first in depth study was in the book of 1 Peter. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The bible says in Romans 12:2

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Our sinful minds can only be changed through knowing God’s word and submitting to it. So since our move I have really enjoyed studying the bible inductively. I went to my first Kay Arthur conference last fall and appreciated Kay’s fervor for the word. From there I proceeded to study Galatians and 1&2 Kings and 2 Chronicles using Kay’s New Inductive Bible Study Series.  I would love to participate in a Precept Upon Precept study in the future. I am currently finishing up the book of James and plan to start a new book in the next week or two. I thought I would pickup after 2 Chronicles in the book of Ezra but I am not convinced that is what I want to do yet.

If you are interested in the inductive study method please visit Kay Arthur’s website where there is plenty of videos and information listed about inductive study. I encourage you to make a habit every day to study the word. I wake up at 5am (almost every morning) and make my breakfast and study before my children wake or before I leave for work. This is my favorite part of the day because I enjoy that quiet, peaceful time with my creator.

ב Beth

How can a young man cleanse his way?
By taking heed according to Your word.
10 With my whole heart I have sought You;
Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!
11 Your word I have hidden in my heart,
That I might not sin against You.
12 Blessed are You, O Lord!
Teach me Your statutes.
13 With my lips I have declared
All the judgments of Your mouth.
14 I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies,
As much as in all riches.
15 I will meditate on Your precepts,
And contemplate Your ways.
16 I will delight myself in Your statutes;
I will not forget Your word.

Psalm 119

Ladies dig into the word and let it change you to be like Christ. Don’t neglect the only thing that causes us to grow into who God has created us to be. Seek him and Love him!
